Number Of Ingredients 13

3/4 cup(s) peanut butter, creamy
1 1/4 cup(s) dark brown sugar, firmly packed
1/2 cup(s) shortening
3 tablespoon(s) milk
1 tablespoon(s) pure vanilla extract
1 x large egg
1 3/4 cup(s) all purpose flour
3/4 teaspoon(s) baking soda
3/4 teaspoon(s) salt
DECORATIONS:
80 - chocolate covered mini pretzels
80 - mini brown plain m&m's
40 - red plain m&m's (regular size)

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.
  • Combine brown sugar, peanut butter, shortening, milk & vanilla in large bowl. Beat at medium speed until well blended. Add egg; beat until just blended.
  • In a separate bowl, combine flour, baking soda & salt. Add to creamed mixture at low speed. Mix just until blended.
  • Form dough into 1" balls. To make reindeer-shaped cookies, pinch the bottom of the ball slightly to form a point, then gently flatten with your hand. Space cookies about 2" apart on a greased cookie sheet & bake for 7 - 8 minutes, until set or just beginning to brown.
  • Remove from oven & immediately (& gently) press 2 mini pretzels into the tops of the cookies for the reindeer's antlers. Press 2 mini brown M&M's in for the eyes & 1 red M&M for the nose.
  • Allow to cool 2 minutes on the baking sheet & then transfer to a wire rack or paper towel to cool completely.
