Pasta with clam Sauce image

Garlic and oregano enhance the flavor of this dish..My husband I had a dish like this on the cruise we were on and this recipe comes close to what we ate on that cruise.

Number Of Ingredients 12

12 ounce(s) uncooked linguine
3 clove(s) garlic minced
1 can(s) anchovies {2 ounce} undrained
1 tablespoon(s) olive oil
1 can(s) 8 ounce clam juice
1 can(s) 6 1/2 ounce minced clams undrained
1/3 cup(s) water
2 tablespoon(s) dried oregano
2 tablespoon(s) minced fresh parsley
1/2 cup(s) grated parmesan cheese
- salt and pepper to taste
1/2 cup(s) of red and green pepper each diced

Steps:

  • Cook pasta according to package directions,,drain and set aside keep warm.
  • In a wok or saucepan saute the garlic and anchovies in the oil for 3 or 4 minutes, breaking up the anchovies.
  • Stir in the remaining ingredients except the parmesan cheese, bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer for 15 minutes until the sauce is reduced by half..toss with the pasta and sprinkle the cheese over the clamsauce and pasta.
