Parmesan Cheese Croutons image

1 small loaf of french bread, like a baguette
1 large garlic clove, peeled
2 tablespoons olive oil
4 tablespoons Parmesan cheese or Romano

Steps:

  • Preheat broiler.
  • Rub the outside of the bread with the garlic. Cut the bread into slices about 1/4-inch thick.
  • Arrange the slices on a baking sheet and brush one side with oil.
  • Place under the broiler until lightly browned on one side. Turn and repeat.
  • Top each crouton with the Parmesan cheese. Place under the broiler until golden brown.
