Oysters Virginia Beach image

Number Of Ingredients 13

1/2 pound mushrooms, thinly sliced
6 tablespoons butter, divided
3 tablespoons flour
1 - 2 dozen fresh oyster
1/3 cup dry sherry
3 tablespoons sliced green onions
3 tablespoons chopped parsley
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1/8 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 cup bread crumbs
bacon, crumbled (optional)
Parmesan cheese (optional)

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350°. Sauté mushrooms in 2 tablespoons butter; set aside. Melt remaining butter. Stir in flour; cook slightly. Add remaining ingredients except bread crumbs. Place in buttered 1 1/2-quart casserole. Top with crumbs. Bake at 350° for 15 minutes. Ladle into individual shells for serving, and add optional toppings, if desired.
