OVERNIGHT EGG FONDUE image

Number Of Ingredients 7

1/2 lb. butter, softened
12 slices buttercrust bread (can remove crusts, if desired)
6 slices sharp Cheddar cheese
18 slices cooked bacon, crumbled (about one pound) - can also substitute Canadian bacon or ham slices
6 large eggs
3 cups milk
1 tsp. salt (optional)

Steps:

  • Butter both sides of bread and places six slices in bottom of a 9"x13" pan. Top each slice of bread with cheese, then crumbled bacon or ham. Place remaining six slices of buttered bread on top. Beat eggs and milk together, and pour over bread. Cover tightly and refrigerate overnight (can also freeze). Bake uncovered at 325 degrees for one hour or until golden brown. Serves six to eight people.
