Oreo Cheese Ball image

This is a great recipe to serve for get togethers. Original or low fat cream cheese works best for this recipe, for some reason the no fat cream cheese doesn't stay together. (guess it's the fat that keeps it together) Enjoy!

Number Of Ingredients 5

2 pkg 8 oz. cream cheese, room temperature
1 1/2 rows oreo cookies
1 c confectioners sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
1/2 c chocolate chips, mini (optional)

Steps:

  • 1. Separate Oreo cookies and remove cream. Place cream in a large mixing bowl. Add softened cream cheese, vanilla, and confectioners sugar. Blend until creamy. Add mini chocolate chips if desired.
  • 2. Place cream cheese mixture in a covered bowl and chill 2 hours. While cream cheese is setting up, crush Oreo cookies into fine crumbs.
  • 3. After 2 hours, place cream cheese mixture onto plastic wrap and shape into a ball. This may need refrigerating again for another hour or so before rolling in Oreo crumbs. Keep refrigerated until ready to serve. Serve with graham cracker sticks, vanilla wafers, or apples. Yummy!
