OATMEAL TOFFEE COOKIE image

Number Of Ingredients 11

1 ½ cups old-fashioned or quick-cooking oats, uncooked
¾ cup all-purpose flour
¾ cup sugar
1/3 cup packed brown sugar
6 Tbsp. butter or margarine (3/4 stick) softened
1 tsp. vanilla extract
½ tsp. baking soda
½ tsp. baking powder
¼ tsp. salt
1 large egg
5 1.o4 to 1.20-ounce chocolate covered toffee bars,(Heath bars) cut into ½ inch pieces

Steps:

  • 1. Into large bowl, measure all ingredients except chocolate-covered toffee-bar pieces. With mixer at low speed, beat ingredients until blended, occasionally scraping bowl with rubber spatula. With spoon, stir in toffee-bar pieces. 2. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Shape 1 heaping tablespoonful cookie dough at a time into a ball; flatten slightly; arrange them about 2 inches apart on ungreased large cookie sheets. Bake cookies 12 minutes or until golden. With pancake turner, carefully remove cookies to wire racks to cool. Store cookies in tightly covered container. Makes about 2 ½ dozen.
