Oatmeal Pie, My Way image

In the Civil War. Pecans were in short supply. The substitution for pecans became oats. The smell coming from your oven will make you drool!

Number Of Ingredients 9

1 - pie crust, unbaked
4 - eggs
1 cup(s) sugar
2 tablespoon(s) flour
1 teaspoon(s) cinnamon, i used heaping
3/4 cup(s) light corn syrup
1/4 cup(s) melted margarine
1 teaspoon(s) vanilla, i just splashed in, i didnt measure
1 cup(s) oatmeal, i used the old fashioned kind

Steps:

  • Oven to 350 degrees. Beat eggs until well combined. Add corn syrup and slightly cooled margarine (so you don't cook the eggs) and blend well. Add combined remaining dry ingredients but oats. Mix well, then add in oats. Mix then pour into crust. Bake 45 minutes.
