NUTMEG PANCAKES image

Number Of Ingredients 12

Nutmeg syrup: 2C water, 1C sugar and 1t fresh nutmeg (add pinch more for bottled ground nutmeg)
Pancakes:
2C flour
1T baking powder
1T sugar
1t nutmeg (see above)
3/4t salt
1/2t cinnamon
2 large eggs
1/4C (1/2 stick) butter)melted; plus more for griddle
1 3/4C whole milk
Sliced bananas

Steps:

  • Syrup: Bring all ingredients to boil in heavy saucepan; reduce heat to medium an dsimmer until reduced to 1C (8 min). Cover and chill. Pancakes: Preheat oven to 250*; whisk first 6 ingredients in bowl; whisk in eggs, 1/4C butter and milk. Prepare pancakes, keep warm in oven and slightly reheat syrup.
