4-6 stick red sassafras root
2 c water
2 Tbsp honey

Steps:

  • 1. Put the red sassafras root pieces into a sauce pan and add water. Bring to a boil for about 5 minutes (longer or shorter boiling time depending how strong you like it)
  • 2. Pour into two cups through a strainer. Add honey to sweeten if desired.
  • 3. This can be served hot or cold and tastes like a mild root beer.
