NANA'S CHILI SAUCE image

4 quarts Peeled chopped tomatoes
2 cups chopped onions
1 cup chopped sweet red peppers
1 cup chopped green peppers
3 T salt
1/2 cup sugar
1 T powdered dry mustard
2 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp ground allspice
2 1/2 cups vinegar

Steps:

  • Combine vegetables, salt, and sugar. Cook until it begins to thicken. Add vinegar and spices and cook until a thick sauce. Optional: You can drain juice from vegetables before adding vinegar to shorten cooking time.) Pour into hot Ball jars. Cook in pressure cooker at 15 pounds pressure for Pittsburgh for 25 minutes.
