Mouthwatering Chinese Pork Chops image

My mother is Chinese, and always made pork chops in this sauce. Very yummy! The sauce is savory, and hard to resist! During the summer, I make these on the grill instead of in the oven, and they turn out even better!

Time 1h10m

Yield 4-6 pork chops, 4-6 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 9

6 tablespoons dark soy sauce
6 tablespoons oyster sauce (Lee Kum Chee is the best brand. I buy mine in bulk at an oriental market)
2 tablespoons sesame oil
2 tablespoons teriyaki sauce
3 tablespoons brown sugar
3 tablespoons pancake syrup
3 tablespoons applesauce or 3 tablespoons apple juice concentrate
1 tablespoon of minced garlic
4 large pork chops or 6 small pork chops

Steps:

  • Combine all ingredients in gallon sized zip-lock bag. Add meat. Marinate overnight.
  • Heat oven to 350 degrees.
  • Place pork chops in foil-lined baking pan and pour sauce from the bag over them.
  • Cover and bake for 45 minutes.
  • Remove foil from pan. Turn chops and bake for an additional fifteen minutes to brown.
  • Serve over white rice. I save the drippings and pour them over the rice.
