MOTHER'S BANANA BREAD (SALLYE) image

This is an excellent banana bread recipe. Easy to make and delicious to eat.

Number Of Ingredients 10

3 medium ripe bananas
2 large egg
2 tablespoon(s) molasses
2 tablespoon(s) oil (i use corn oil)
2/3 cup(s) granulated sugar
2 cup(s) flour
1 teaspoon(s) baking powder
1 teaspoon(s) baking soda
1/2 teaspoon(s) salt
1 cup(s) chopped nuts

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 325º Chop nuts and set aside Grease or lightly spray a 8" x 5" x 3" loaf pan.
  • In large mixing bowl, mash bananas until no lumps remain. Be patient, this can take a few minutes. Add unbeaten egg to bananas and mix well. Beat in sugar, molasses and oil until well blended.
  • Sift flour, baking powder, soda and salt together. Pour nuts into sifted flour to cover.
  • Mix flour and nuts into mixture until well blended. Pour into greased loaf pan Cook in preheated 325º oven for 1 hour.
