Number Of Ingredients 12

1/4 pound ground beef
½ cup chopped green pepper
½ cup chopped onion
1 - 540 ml (19 oz.) can tomatoes
1 - 156 ml (5½ oz.) can tomato paste
¼ cup water
1 bay leaf, crushed
¼ teaspoon salt
¼ teaspoon pepper
4 cups cooked, drained penne rigate pasta
1 - 250 g package Velveeta cheese, cut into 12 slices
Kraft grated Parmesan Cheese

Steps:

  • Brown meat; drain. Add green pepper and onion; cook until tender. Stir in tomatoes, tomato paste, water and seasonings. Layer half of pasta, meat sauce and 6 cheese slices in a 2 L (11¼ x 7½ inch) oblong baking dish. Repeat layers of pasta and meat sauce. Bake at 180º C (350º F), 30 minutes. Top with remaining 6 cheese slices; sprinkle with grated cheese. Continue baking until cheese is melted. 6 to 8 servings. Note: 500 Ml (2 cups) dry pasta will yield about 1 L (4 cups) cooked.
