MORAVIAN SUGAR CAKE image

This is so good. A little work but worth it. Enjoy

Number Of Ingredients 14

1/2 c warm water (110 degrees)
1/2 tsp sugar
2 pkg active dry yeast
3/4 c warm water - 110 degrees
1/2 c sugar
2 Tbsp dry milk powder
1/4 c instant mashed potatoes dry
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 c butter melted and cooled
2 eggs
3 c flour
1 c brown sugar
1 tsp cinnamon
1/2 c butter melted and cooled

Steps:

  • 1. Add yeast to warm water and sugar; set aside until yeast bubbles.
  • 2. Add next 7 ingedients,plus 1 cup of the flour.
  • 3. Beat 2 min.on medium speed. With wooden spoon,add 2 remaining cups of flour. Place in greased bowl; turn once to grease top of dough. Cover and let rise until double, about 1 hour
  • 4. Punch dough down and put in greased shallow pan 17x12x1 inches. Let rise 30 min, spread evenly in pan; sprinkle evenly with brown sugar and cinnamon, make shallow indentations with fingers and dribble with last 1/2 cup cooled melted butter.
  • 5. Let rise 30 min, then bake on 375 for 12 to 15 min till golden brown
