Monkeybread----Dutch oven style image

I got this recipe from a camping site on Pinterest. It is so easy and of course having cinnamon in it makes it delicious. It's a Dutch oven recipe. This was what we made for our first breakfast camping last week. We also had fresh eggs and sausage. So very good!!!

Time 30m

Number Of Ingredients 5

1/2 c sugar
1/2 c light brown sugar
1 1/2 Tbsp cinnamon
1/2 stick butter
1 can(s) pillsbury small biscuits or whatever brand you want.

Steps:

  • 1. Before you start, always preheat your Dutch oven. Start a bunch of coals and when ready, put some under the oven and and on the lid. Wait for about ten minutes. After it heats, spray with cooking spray. For this recipe we used a 10 inch Dutch oven.
  • 2. Now, mix both sugars and cinnamon in a plastic bag. Cut biscuits in half and toss in the bag to coat.
  • 3. Arrange biscuits in a sprayed disposable round cake pan. Melt butter and pour over the top. Now using Dana Ramsey's great advice, I put three round canning jar rings under the cake pan. Put cake pan on these and cover oven. Normally something like this would cook at about 350 degrees, so put about 12-14 coals on top and 7 coals underneath. cook for about 20 minutes or longer. Open oven halfway through and check biscuits. Enjoy!!
