Mom's Pumpkin Bread image

Number Of Ingredients 11

1 1/3 cup crisco
6 2/3 cups flour
4 cups sugar
2 teaspoons salt
8 pieces eggs
4 teaspoons baking soda
29 ounces canned pumpkin
3 teaspoon baking powder
1 1/3 cup water
2 teaspoons cinnamon
1 1/2 cup raisins

Steps:

  • Cream shortening and sugar. Stir in eggs, pumpkin, water. Blend in dry ingredients. Stir in raisins. Spoon into greased loaf pans. Bake at 350 degrees:
  • Large loaf 60 - 70 mins, until toothpick comes out clean.
  • Mini loaf 40 - 45 mins. until toothpick comes out clean.
  • Cool in pan 20 mins, remove and cool completely.
  • Freezes well or can refrigerate.
  • Can cut this recipe in half - use 15-16 oz can pumpkin.
