Steps:
- Preheat oven to 375 F. Mix the butter, vanilla, and sugars together. Mix well till light & fluffy. Beat in egg.
- Then in medium bowl, combine flour, baking soda, and salt. Blend into creamed mixture, and then stir in M&Ms; mix well.
- Put cookies onto ungreased cookie sheet dropping off of a teaspoon about two inches apart. Bake until lightly browned. For chewy cookies, bake 9 to 10 minutes. For crunchy cookies, cook for 11 to 12 minutes. Cool completely on wire wrack.
