2 large heads of cabbage
1/2 lb fresh hickory smoked bacon
2 medium sweet yellow onions
1 tsp black pepper
1 tsp salt

Steps:

  • 1. Start with a large sauce pot.On med-high heat fry bacon in bottom of pot. When bacon has produced oils add sliced raw onion to cook together. While bacon is fryin cut up both heads of cabbage into quarters then slice all quarters.Toss into pot when bacon is crispy.(dont drain the bacon grease) THATS WHAT GIVES IT FLAVOR :) "now i never said this was the healthiest recipe but i will gurantee its delish"!! So once your addicted, keep it down to makin it every other week. Add your salt and pepper to taste, turn down your heat to low-medium, and put a lid fitting on top so it will steam to perfection.Stir every 10 minutes and put lid back on to continue steamin process. its done when its nice and sauteed. the cabbage will turn a light golden brown from the yummy juices and oils of the bacon. @ 40 minutes tops.~ let me know whatcha think :) "Happy Eat'n~Ya'll"
