Steps:
- 1. Pour white flour into a large bowl, then scoop flour with a big spoon into the measuring cup (so flour will not be compressed) and level out flour by running the flat side of a knife across the top of the measuring cup. Put measured flour into a slightly smaller bowl.
- 2. Now add the salt, sugar and cocoa to flour and stir to combine. Do NOT add yeast yet.
- 3. In small pot, melt butter then add the water to the pot and heat to 120 *F.
- 4. Add molasses to pot and stir to mix it into water. Now pour this into the bread machine reservoir.
- 5. Spoon flour mix into reservoir then use spoon to make a shallow hole in the middle. Do not go through to liquid. Pour the yeast into this hole. Put into bread machine and run it on the one hour bread cycle.(#5 setting on mine)
- 6. * You may need to add a tad more water if mix is too dry. Just add a teaspoon at a time and scrap the sides down with rubber spatula.
- 7. When bread machine is finished, turn loaf out cool on a rack. Do not wrap or bag till it is cooled completely.
- 8. Sometimes I also add 1/4 tsp. garlic powder and onion powder to the dry ingredients. Very good for sandwiches !
