MEATLOAF BURGUNDY image

Number Of Ingredients 12

2 pounds ground beef (top round or sirloin)
1 pound ground veal
1 pound ground pork (or just use all ground beef)
1 cup cottage cheese
1 cup bread crumbs
1 cup chopped onion
½ cup chili sauce
3 eggs, beaten
3 tbsp chopped green pepper
Salt and pepper to taste
½ cup Burgundy wine
1 cup tomato sauce

Steps:

  • Combine beef, veal and pork and mix thoroughly. Add cottage cheese, bread crumbs, onion, chili sauce, eggs and green pepper. Season to taste with salt and pepper. Shape into a loaf and place in a roasting pan. Pour wine over meatloaf and spread tomato sauce on top. Bake at 400 degrees for 30 minutes, basting frequently with pan juices. Reduce heat to 350 degrees and bake 30 minutes more.
