MaMa's Banana Nut Cake image

My mother always takes this cake to our family reunions,and it's always the first to disappear.

Number Of Ingredients 15

1 1/2 c sugar
1 stick butter
2 eggs
2 c flour
1 tsp baking soda
3 mashed ripe bananas
1 c pecans,chopped
1 tsp vanilla
4 Tbsp buttermilk
ICING:
1 stick butter,softened
1 box powdered sugar
1 mashed ripe banana
1 c pecans,chopped
1 tsp vanilla

Steps:

  • 1. Cake:combine all ingredients.Pour into 2(8inch)round greased and floured cake pans.Bake at 375degrees for 25 minutes.Or if using a bundt pan 350 degrees for 45 minutes until tested done.Let cool before inverting.
  • 2. Icing: Stir together till smooth.
