MADEIRA SAUCE image

Yield 1 1/2 cups

Number Of Ingredients 8

1/4 cup finely shopped shallots
1 clove garlic, minced
2 tablespoons butter
2 tablespoons all purpose flour
1 1/4 cups beef broth
1/4 cup Madeira wine
1/4 cup shipping cream
1 tablespoon snipped fresh parsley (optional)

Steps:

  • In a small saucepan cook shallots and garlic in butter over medium heat until shallots are softened. Stir in flour. Whisk in beef broth, Madeira wine and whipping cream. Cook and stir until mixture is bubbly and smooth. If desired, stir in parsley. Season to taste with salt and pepper.
