Lucille's Beef Brisket image

Number Of Ingredients 8

4 pounds beef brisket
2 teaspoons salt
0.5 teaspoons pepper
1 cloves garlic
3 units onion
1 cups water
2 tablespoons cornstarch
1 cups water

Steps:

  • Place brisket on 10x13 shallow pan, fat side up. Season with salt, pepper, garlic, and layer onions on top of roast.
  • Bake in 350°F oven for 1 hour or until onions brown. Add 1 cup HOT water, cover with foil and seal tight. Reduce heat to 300°F and bake for 2 more hours.
  • Remove brisket topped with onions to serving platter, you may take the onions off or leave them on. Slice thin.
  • Thicken pan juices with cornstarch and COLD water. Pour small amount of gravy over top of brisket. Use remaining gravy to serve with potatoes.
