Louisiana Shrimp Au Gratin image

Crwfish, Shrimp, Oysters, Crabs....which do I like best? Depends on what I'm eating at the time!!!! I love this recipe using any of the above ingredients......

Number Of Ingredients 9

2 lb shrimp, peeled and roughly chopped
4 Tbsp butter
1 1/2 stick butter
3/4 c flour
3 c pet milk
4 oz american cheese, shredded
3 Tbsp onion, minced
1/2 bunch chopped green onion tops
salt and pepper to taste

Steps:

  • 1. Saute shrimp in the 4 tablespoons butter,
  • 2. In a separate pot, melt the rest of the butter. Stir in flour.
  • 3. Add milk to make a white sauce. Bring to a boil.
  • 4. Add cheese, onions, green onions and sauteed shrimp.;
  • 5. Season with salt and pepper. Spoon into individual baking dishes and bake at 350 degrees for 20 to 25 minutes.
