Honestly...they are light, big, fluffy and won't fall apart. I created these because I ran out of butter and won't make them any other way! "PERFECT for biscuits and gravy"

Steps:
- 1. Preheat oven to 425 degrees
- 2. In a large bowl (do not use a processor or mixer), whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar. Cut in the shortening until the mixture resembles coarse meal. Gradually stir in your buttermilk.
- 3. place onto a lightly floured surface, and knead 20 to 30 times. Roll out to one inch thickness and cut out your circles using a doughnut cutter. You can get creative and use cookie cutters.
- 4. Place on a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper 2 inches apart. Bake for 12 to 13 minutes or until golden brown. Watch your oven after 10 minutes to get the accurate time, I use a gas oven and this was the time it took for mine to bake.
