LEMON-NUTMEG PIE CRUST DOUGH image

Number Of Ingredients 9

2 1/3 cup flour
1 Tablespoon sugar
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon grated lemon peel
1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
.5 cup (1 stick) chilled, unsalted butter, cut in pieces
.5 cup chilled solid vegetable shortening, cut into pieces
3 Tablespoons water
1 Tablespoon fresh lemon juice

Steps:

  • Combine first 5 ingredients in processor. Add butter and shortening and blend until mixture resembles coarse meal. Add 3 T water and 1 T lemon juice and process until moist clumps form. Gather into 2 balls, flatten into disks. Wrap in plastic wrap and refrigerate 30 min. Can wait 3 days, or freeze 2 weeks.
