Number Of Ingredients 9

6 lamb shanks (3 to 4 lb.)
1 tablespoon vegetable shortening solid
1 (10 1/2-ounce) can cream of mushroom soup condensed
1 (10 1/2-ounce) can condensed beef consommé
2 garlic medium, minced
1 teaspoon browning and seasoning sauce
1/2 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1/4 teaspoon maple extract
Hot cooked noodles

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350°. In a 5-quart Dutch oven over medium-low heat, brown lamb shanks in shortening. Add soup, consommé, garlic, browning and seasoning sauce, Worcestershire sauce and maple flavor stir to mix. Cover and bake for 1 1/2 hours or until meat is tender. Skim fat from sauce serve shanks and sauce over noodles.
