I have made a change to this recipe, as when you make your own arm and hammer baking soda into baking soda wash powder,there is a highly chemical change that occurs and it can take your breath away.(I will leave that at the bottom of this recipe)But I'd prefer that you just buy the arm and hammer baking soda washing powder and not convert the baking soda(cooking stuff) into the wash powder.I just learned this one in October.It can save you money.You are buying baking soda very cheaply and turning it into Baking Soda(like arm and Hammer)to use to wash your clothes with.YES you heard that right.

Number Of Ingredients 3

4 cup(s) 20 mule team borax
4 cup(s) arm and hammer washing powder
1 package(s) (bar) zote soap

Steps:

  • Open an ice cream bucket and pour in 4 cups borax and 4 cups arm and hammer.Both of these are washing powders in laundry section of grocery stores.
  • Use a old fashioned cheese grater,and scrape bar of soap across it until it is all grated up.Now put this into a blender and blend to a powder.
  • Put this into bucket and shake it all up.Use 4 tablespoons per load of laundry.Keep lid closed on bucket.
