Steps:
- Brown ground beef in non-stick skillet with onion and bell pepper. Add salt, pepper, ground red pepper, and garlic powder (NOT GARLIC SALT) to the meat mixture while it cooks. While this is cooking, cook and crumble the bacon.
- Pour the beans into a large mixing bowl. Add ketchup, Worcestershire, and mustard, being sure not to add too much mustard to begin with. Also add brown sugar and corn syrup. Toss in crumbled bacon.
- Once the ground beef is brown and the onions are translucent, drain this mixture and add to the bean mixture. Stir well and taste. Add additional items to your taste. I like to add jalapeno peppers sprinkled on top.
- Pour this mixture into a casserole dish and bake for about 30 minutes at 350 degrees F.
