Julie's Baked Oatmeal image

Made with old-fashioned oats and just a hint of sweetness. Delicious and healthy, it reheats well in the microwave for a quick weekday breakfast. Inspired by Jenny's Baked Oatmeal.

Number Of Ingredients 10

1 1/2 cups old fashioned oats
1/2 cup dried cranberries or 1/2 cup raisins
2 tablespoons chopped walnuts
1 tablespoon brown sugar
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/8 teaspoon kosher salt (less if table salt)
2 cups milk
2 tablespoons butter, melted
1 large egg, slightly beaten

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees and grease a 2 quart casserole dish.
  • In a mixing bowl, stir all ingredients together.
  • Pour into prepared dish and cook for 40 minutes.
  • Top with brown sugar and cream.
