Josephine's Meatballs image

This meatball recipe from my Mom's cousin, Josephine, was a great hit! So much so that we now make 10 pans of them each year and sell them as a Sweet BBQ Meatball supper at our church.

Number Of Ingredients 16

MEATBALLS:
3 lb lean ground beef
1 can(s) evaporated milk
2 c oatmeal, uncooked
1/2 c onion, finely chopped
2 tsp pepper
2 tsp salt
2 eggs
2 tsp chili powder
1 tsp garlic powder
SAUCE
2 c ketchup
1 1/4 c brown sugar
2 Tbsp liquid smoke flavoring
1 tsp garlic powder
1/2 c onion, finely chopped

Steps:

  • 1. Mix all the meatball ingredients together. Shape into 1" balls, put in greased 9x13 pan, 1 layer only. Mix sauce ingredients. Spoon over meatballs.
  • 2. Bake 1 hour uncovered at 350 degrees. Makes 36 meatballs.
