Italian Spaghetti with Meat Sauce image

Number Of Ingredients 16

1 (16-ounce) package uncooked spaghetti
1 pound extra-lean ground beef
1 cup chopped onion
1 cup sliced fresh mushrooms
1/2 cup , chopped green bell pepper
2 garlic cloves, minced
2 (6-ounce) cans tomato paste
1 (15-ounce) can tomato sauce
2 cups water
3 teaspoons dried parsley flakes
3 teaspoons dried Italian seasoning
1 1/2 teaspoons dried basil leaves
1/2 teaspoon sugar
1/2 teaspoon pepper
3/4 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese, if desired

Steps:

  • 1. Cook spaghetti to desired doneness as directed on package. Drain cover to keep warm.2. Meanwhile, spray large skillet with nonstick cooking spray. Heat over medium heat until hot. Add ground beef, onions, mushrooms, bell pepper and garlic cook 8 to 10 minutes or until beef is thoroughly cooked, stirring frequently. Drain well.3. Stir in tomato paste and tomato sauce mix well. Gradually stir in water. Stir in parsley, Italian seasoning, basil, sugar, pepper and Worcestershire sauce. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat to low cover and simmer 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.4.
