3/4 cup(s) shortening
2 cup(s) sugar
1 1/2 cup(s) boiling water
2 cup(s) flour
1/2 cup(s) cocoa
2 teaspoon(s) baking soda
1/2 teaspoon(s) salt
2 - eggs
1 teaspoon(s) vanilla

Steps:

  • Cover shortening and sugar with boiling water. Add flour, cocoa, baking soda, salt, eggs and vanilla. And blend well. Bake at 375 degrees, 25-30 minutes in a 13x9-inch pan. Batter is thin. Test for doneness with toothpick. Makes 4-6 servings.
