Hot Dog Taco's image

My husband will eat anything with hot dogs. These are pretty good though

Number Of Ingredients 13

8 - nacho cheese hard taco shells
8 - hot dogs
1 medium onion
1 tablespoon(s) canola oil
1 teaspoon(s) ancho chili powder
2 tablespoon(s) butter
2 tablespoon(s) flour
1 cup(s) milk
8 ounce(s) queso velveeta chopped
- salsa
3 large jalapeno sliced into rings and seeded
3 tablespoon(s) white vinegar
- fresh cilantro leaves

Steps:

  • Place the sliced jalapeno's in the white vinegar and set aside.
  • Add the oil to a large skillet and add the onions and saute on low heat until caramelized about 5 minutes. Stir in the Ancho chile powder. Add the hot dogs and cook until browned.
  • Melt butter in a sauce pan and add the flour and cook until browned and smooth. Add the milk and cook until thickened. Stir in the Velveeta and cook until melted and thick.
  • Place a hot dog in each taco shell. Top with onions, cheese, salsa. Drain the jalapenos and place on top of each hot dog and drop a few cilantro leaves
