Hot Dog Chili image

Everyone LOVES this chili when I make it! It is sweet and goes well with things other than hot dogs. We sometimes have it with fritos, cheese and sour cream. Simple to make with minimal ingredients!

Number Of Ingredients 7

2 -3 lbs ground beef (browned and drained)
1 (2 ounce) envelope onion soup mix (such as Lipton Onion soup mix)
1 -3 tablespoon brown sugar (to taste)
1 (36 ounce) bottle ketchup (the whole bottle or to taste)
2 teaspoons mustard (or to taste)
1 onion, minced (large to medium)
1/4-1/2 cup water (depending on how thick you like your chili)

Steps:

  • Brown ground beef with minced onion; drain.
  • In a medium sized cooker add ketchup, onion soup mix, brown sugar, mustard and water.
  • Add ground beef and onion to mixture.
  • Simmer on low heat for 2 to 3 hours.
  • Serve on hot dogs or with corn chips, cheese and sour cream.
  • Enjoy!
