Yield 2-4 servings

Number Of Ingredients 6

5 apples; cored, peeled, and lightly chopped
1 tsp. of fresh lemon juice (this prevents the apples from turning brown)
1 tsp. of ground cinnamon
a small knob of butter (optional)
2/3 cups of water
Health Benefits: In natural medicine, apples are renowned for their cleansing properties, and for their ability to aid digestion and remove impurities from the liver.

Steps:

  • 1. Put the apples, lemon juice, cinnamon, butter (if using), and 2/3 cup water in a non-stick saucepan. 2. Bring to a boil, then simmer over medium-low heat for 12-15 minutes, until the apples are tender, stirring occasionally. 3. Take off the heat. 4. (optional) Lightly mash the apples with a fork to break them down slightly. 5. (optional) Then let cool.
