Honey Barbecued Ribs image

I picked this recipe up from a cooking magazine that used to be called Quick Cooking (one of the Reimann Publishing magazines). What I like about it is the grilling part is fail-proof. I can't seem to get grilling down. I've tried, but it seems to be an art-form, lol. But in this recipe, the meat is already cooked and is tender and moist already -- we're just searing the barbecue sauce (easy and delicious) onto the meat. Yum!

1 1/2 pound(s) country-style pork ribs
1/4 teaspoon(s) garlic salt
1/4 teaspoon(s) pepper
1/2 cup(s) ketchup
1/4 cup(s) packed brown sugar
1/4 cup(s) honey
2 tablespoon(s) spicy brown mustard
1 tablespoon(s) worcestershire sauce
3/4 teaspoon(s) liquid smoke

  • Place ribs in a large kettle or Dutch oven; sprinkle with garlic salt and pepper. Add enough water to cover; bring to a boil. Reduce heat; cover and simmer for 1 hour or until juices run clear and ribs are tender. Drain.
  • Meanwhile, combine the remaining ingredients.
  • Grill ribs, uncovered, over medium heat for 10 - 12 minutes, basting with sauce and turning occasionally.
