Homemade Mac and Cheese image

Number Of Ingredients 9

8 ounce(s) elbow noodle
4 tablespoon(s) butter, cold
4 tablespoon(s) flour
1/2 teaspoon(s) dry mustard
1 teaspoon(s) salt or to taste
1/2 teaspoon(s) pepper
3 cup(s) cream or milk
2 cup(s) sharp cheddar cheese
- bread crumbs to cover top

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Cook noodles, rinse and drain.
  • melt butter in medium saucepan, mix flour, salt, pepper and mustard in small bowl and add to butter, whisk till smooth and bubbly. Gradually stir in cream till thick and smooth, remove from heat
  • Mix noodles and cheese together, then add sauce and pour into a buttered baking dish and sprinkle with bread crumbs Bake till bubbly, and top is golden brown, about 30 minutes
