Homemade Chewy Granola Bars image

Number Of Ingredients 12

1 cup firmly packed brown sugar
2/3 cup creamy peanut butter
1/2 cup light corn syrup
1/2 cup margarine or butter, melted
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
3 cups quick-cooking rolled oats
1/2 cup flaked coconut
1/2 cup shelled sunflower seed
1/2 cup raisins
1/3 cup wheat germ
2 tablespoons sesame seeds
1 (6-ounce) package (1 cup) semisweet chocolate chips or carob chips, if desired

Steps:

  • 1. Heat oven to 350°F. Grease 13x9-inch pan. In large bowl, combine brown sugar, peanut butter, corn syrup, margarine and vanilla blend well. Add all remaining ingredients mix well. Press evenly in greased pan.2. Bake at 350°F. for 15 to 20 minutes or until light golden brown. Cool 1 hour or until completely cooled.
