Mmmmmm! Never knew what a butterbean was until I moved south! Now Dad & I love them!!!!

Steps:
- Cook bacon & onion in a large dutch oven over medium heat 7 minutes. Add brown sugar & cook; stirring occasionally, 2 minutes or until sugar is dissolved. Stir in butter beans & butter until butter is melted & beans are thoroughly coated. Stir in 12 C. water.
- Bring to a boil over medium-high heat; reduce heat to low & simmer, stirring occasionally, 2 hours or until beans are very tender & liquid is thickened & just below top of beans. Stir in salt & pepper.
