Hoagie Dip image

Being from Philly hoagies are part of our everyday life! This recipe came from a friend of mine, I have made it for my family and friends and they all love it! I hope you enjoy this simple but awesome dip.

Number Of Ingredients 12

1 medium onion
2 pickled pepperoncini peppers
1/2 head iceberg lettuce
1 large tomato, halved and seeded
1/4 lb each of deli-sliced ham, salami and turkey
1/4 lb each of deli-sliced provolone, american and swiss cheese
1/2 c mayonnaise
1 Tbsp extra-virgin olive oil
1 tsp dried oregano
1 1/2 tsp dried basil
1/4 tsp red pepper flakes
8 hoagie rolls, cut into pieces, for dipping

Steps:

  • 1. Chop the onion, pepperoncini, and tomato into bite-size pieces.
  • 2. Shred the lettuce
  • 3. Dice the meats and cheese.
  • 4. Combine the chopped vegetables, meats and cheese in a large bowl.
  • 5. whisk the mayonnaise, olive oil, oregano, basil and red pepper flakes in a small bowl
  • 6. Stir the dressing with the meats, cheese and vegatables.
  • 7. Refrigerate until ready to serve.
  • 8. Use the hoagie rolls pieces to scoop up the dip. Yummers!
