Hamburger Steak image

Pennsylvania Dutch cooking is simple, relying on available ingredients often grown or made on the family farm. Many recipes are centuries-old family favorites. This is one of them.

Number Of Ingredients 7

1 lb ground beef
1 egg, well beaten
1/2 tsp salt
1 dash(es) black pepper
1 onion, minced
1/4 c bread crumbs
butter, for frying

Steps:

  • 1. Mix all ingredients (except butter) in order given and shape into round patties.
  • 2. Fry in butter until nicely browned.
