Yield 4-6

Number Of Ingredients 12

o 1 lb ground beef
o 1 head of cabbage
o 1 Onion (chopped)
o 4 Servings of Rice
o Tomato Sauce (I use about 2 cups, but this is more to taste)
o 3 Cloves of Garlic (pressed)
o 3 TBSP Smoked Paprika (preferably Hungarian)
o 1 TBSP Chili Powder
o 3-4 Leaves Basil (chopped)
o 2 TBSP Parsley (chopped)
o 2 TBSP Olive Oil
o Garlic Powder (to taste)

Steps:

  • o Boil head of cabbage until somewhat soft o In sauté pan add 1 TBSP olive oil, garlic, onions and ground beef and cook until beef cooked through (about 20 minutes on med heat) o Cook rice as appropriate (I use a rice cooker, if cooking in oven or pot, feel free to under cook it a little as it will be cooked more later o Pre heat oven to 350 degrees o When beef is cooked through add in all other herbs and spices o Mix all ingredients in large bowl except cabbage and tomato sauce and last TBSP of Olive oil o In Dutch oven or high casserole dish add in the last of the olive oil o Carefully un- peel the cabbage (you will add about 2 TBSP of the beef mixture to each leaf of cabbage and roll up so that they are closed). Add the cabbage rolls to the pot. Between each layer add about 2 TBSP of tomato sauce and sprinkle garlic powder to ensure that cabbage layers don't stick o Bake for 1 hour
