Green Stuff image

Don't let the name put you off, this really is good.I got this recipe from my 1st husband's mom. I've never been fond of jello mold recipes & never ate one until I got this recipe & this is the only one I will eat. I usually make it especially for my son on Thanksgiving. I never had a name for it & neither did my mother-in-law. So my son would always ask if I was going to make the green stuff for him, hence the name.

Number Of Ingredients 8

1 package(s) lemon gelatin
1 package(s) gelatin, lime
1 pound(s) container cottage chesse (small curd)
3/4 cup(s) mayonnaise
#2 can(s) pineapple, crushed (in own juice, don't drain)
1 lg can(s) evaporated milk
2 cup(s) boiling water
- miracle whip salad dressing (optional)

Steps:

  • Dissolve gelatin in water, both flavors together. Mix well.
  • Add rest of ingredients, including pineapple juice & mix well.
  • Pour into mold or just into a large foil sheet cake pan. Chill until set, if in pan, cut in squares & serve with a dollop of Miracle Whip salad dressing.
  • This recipe can be cut in half if you're not making it for a big dinner, just use a small square foil cake pan. I use the pan instead of a mold as it looks better cut in a square, rather than scooped out.
