Green Beans with Cumin image

Number Of Ingredients 7

1 pound Green beans, trimmed
2 tablespoons Canola Oil
1 teaspoon Cumin Seeds
2 tablespoons Grated Ginger
3/4 teaspoon Salt
1 tablespoon Lime or Lemon juice
1/8 teaspoon Cayenne Pepper

Steps:

  • Blanch the beans in boiling water for 2 minutes. Cool under running water.
  • Combine the oil and cumin in a fry pan over medium heat. Cook, stirring, 1 minute. Add the ginger and cook, stirring, 1 minute.
  • Add the beans and stir to coat with oil and spices. Sprinkle with salt and stir. Cover, turn heat down very low and cook until beans are tender 10-15 minutes.
  • Sprinkle with lemon juice and cayenne pepper.
