HARVEST PIE image

Number Of Ingredients 12

1/4 c light brown sugar,
1/4-1/2 cup fresh cranberries
1/4 cup granulated sugar,
1tsp granualated sugar
1 tbsp all purpose flour,
1 tsp lemon zest,
1/4 tsp ground nutmeg,
1/4 tsp ground cinnamon,
3-4 apples,
2 tbsp chopped walnuts,
pie crust (frozen package),
1 egg

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 425 F, Spray 9 inch deep dish pie pan. Place one of the pie halfs on the base of the pan. In a large bowl add brown sugar, 1/4 cup granulated sugar, flour. lemon zest, nutmeg, cinnamon, chopped walnuts and mix well. Peel, core and slice apples thin, add apples and cranberries to sugar mixture, stirring until coated and scoop into prepared pie dish. Place other pie crust on top of filling, fit to edges, trimming, and using a fork to close edges. To glaze brush pie crust with beaten egg and then sprinkle with 1 tsp granulated sugar. Bake until crust is golden brown, about 35 minutes, cool for about 30 minutes and serve warm.
