- 1. Place beans in 1 inch water in 2-quart saucepan. Heat to boiling reduce heat. Simmer uncovered 10 to 15 minutes or until crisp-tender drain. Immediately rinse with cold water drain.2. Cook bacon in 10-inch skillet over medium-high heat, stirring occasionally, until crisp. Remove bacon from skillet, reserving 1 tablespoon fat in skillet. Drain bacon on paper towels.3. Cook onion in bacon fat over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until tender. Stir in tomato, garlic, oregano, salt and pepper. Simmer uncovered 5 minutes. Stir in beans heat through. Drizzle with lemon juice.
