GREAT GRANDMA GRAY'S CORN CHOWDER image

Yield 6-8 bowls

Number Of Ingredients 8

•¼ lb. bacon, diced
•3 medium sized onion diced
•3 or 4 diced, peeled potatoes
•Water to cover the potatoes
•4 cups corn (fresh, frozen, or canned) if canned, drain before using
•1 qt.milk
•2 tsp. salt
•1/8 tsp. pepper

Steps:

  • Fry bacon until almost crisp, then add the onions and cook until golden brown. Boil potatoes until almost done, then add the corn and cook another 5 minutes or until tender. Stir in milk, salt, pepper, and heat slowly. If time allows, cool and then reheat as it enhances the flavor.
