Grandma's Sugar Cookies image

This recipe was given to me by my husband's Grandma Collins. She had gotten it from her daughter-in-law's mother, Mrs. Wilson. They all lived in north central Missouri. It has been a favorite in all our families. Grandma used to put the cookies in a bread wrapper with a couple of slices of bread to keep them even more moist. ...

Number Of Ingredients 8

1 1/3 c sugar
2 stick margarine (i use parkay or bluebonnet)
2 eggs
3 c flour
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp vanilla

Steps:

  • 1. Cream together the sugar and softened margarine. Add eggs and beat well.
  • 2. Stir in flour, soda, baking powder, salt and vanilla.
  • 3. Roll into balls and flatten. Sprinkle with sugar. Bake at 350 degrees on ungreased cookie sheet for 10-12 minutes. (Don't overcook so cookies will be moist.)
